The official panini is a flat sandwich, typically elongated and filled with fresh Italian ingredients. But the stuffing combinations are endless, depending on your tastes. To make, slice a panini bread in half lengthwise ( you can use ciabatta or baguette). Layer on fresh shaved ham, tomato slices and top with the cheese. Cook the sandwich in a panini press or on a grill pan with a ribbed surface to give it those nicely embedded grill marks, all the while toasting your sandwich to crispy, melted perfection. Enjoy!
