Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 2/3 to 3/4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees,
Add flour baking powder and salt to large bowl

Step 2

Cut Crisco into the flour mixture with pastry blender or fork

Step 3

Add milk, a little at a time, just enough for the dough to come together. Do not overwork, or biscuits will be hard and tough, instead of soft and fluffy

Step 4

Turn dough out onto a clean, lightly floured surface, and pat or roll out to 1/2 inch thick

Step 5

Cut biscuits with a 2 inch circle cutter, and place on an unlined, ungreased cookie sheet, 2-3 inches apart

Step 6

Bake for 12-15 minutes at 425 degrees or until tops are lightly golden brown
