- 1 c flour
- 1 c fine semolina
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp yeast
- 2 c warm water
- To fold and cook the msemen:
- 1 1/2 c veg oil

Step 1
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add 1 1/2 c warm water, then mix to form a dough. Add more water if necessary to make a dough that is soft and easy to knead. If it's too sticky add a little flour.
Transfer dough to lightly floured work surface. Knead by hand for 10 mins until dough is smooth.
Step 2
Flatten and fold like an envelope. Cook.
Serve the msemen plain, with butter and honey, or jam.
To make a syrup from butter and honey, melt equal parts of butter and honey in a pan until hot and bubbling. Carefully dip the msemen in the syrup and serve.
