Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 2/3 to 3/4 cup milk

Add flour baking powder and salt to large bowl,

Step 3

Cut Crisco into the flour mixture with pastry blender or fork,

Step 4

Add milk, a little at a time, just enough for the dough to come together. Do not overwork, or biscuits will be hard and tough, instead of soft and fluffy,

Step 5

Turn dough out onto a clean, lightly floured surface, and pat or roll out to 1/2 inch thick,

Step 6

Cut biscuits with a 2 inch circle cutter, and place on an unlined, ungreased cookie sheet, 2-3 inches apart,

Step 7

Bake for 12-15 minutes at 425 degrees or until tops are lightly golden brown.
