Ingredients
- 2 lbs Hamburger
- 1 onion (large, chopped)
- 4 green peppers (chopped)
- 2 cups rice cooked
- 1 - 10 oz Can Tomato Sauce
- 1 - 29 oz Can Diced Tomatoes
- 1 - 14 oz. can of Beef Broth
- 2 TSP Basil
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 TBSP Sugar
- 1 TSP Garlic Powder
- 1 TSP Onion Powder
- Shredded Cheddar cheese, for topping
Preparation
Step 1
In a 12" skillet cook hamburger, onion and pepper for 10 minutes or until meat is browned and no longer pink. Be sure to drain excess grease.
Step 2
In a medium saucepan cook rice as described on package.
Step 3
In a large stock pot, add hamburger mixture, the rice and all remaining ingredients except for the cheese and stir.
Step 4
Cover and let simmer for about 30 minutes to let all the flavors blend.
Step 5
Serve in bowls and top with a little cheddar cheese.
