Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound sirloin steak
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1/4 cup ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (28 ounce) cans kidney beans with liquid
  • 1 (28 ounce) can Italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (28) can diced tomatoes

Preparation

Step 1

In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook beef until brown. Drain and return to pot. Stir in onions, bell peppers and garlic and cook 1 minute. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir in the tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, and diced tomatoes. Add kidney beans with their liquid. Simmer at least 45 min before serving.
