Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unpacked brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 apple, peeled and chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F, and grease or flour a loaf pan.

Step 2

Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together, set aside.

Step 3

Beat together granulated sugar and butter, add in eggs 1 at a time. Add in vanilla.

Step 4

Combine flour and baking powder and add to mixture, beat until smooth. Add milk and mix until smooth.

Step 5

Pour half of mixture into loaf pan, sprinkle with half the apples and half the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture - pat into batter. Repeat, swirling cinnamon mix into apples on top layer.

Step 6

Bake for 30-40 minutes until brown and crispy.
