Cutout Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 lightly beaten egg
  • 3 T orange juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2

Beat in egg, then orange juice.

Step 3

Combine flour, baking powder and salt and gradually blend into creamed mixture.

Step 4

Cover and refrigerate until chilled.

Step 5

On lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/8 inch thick.

Step 6

Cut into Christmas shapes and placed on ungreased baking sheets.

Step 7

Bake at 375 for 8 minutes or until lightly brown.

Step 8

Let cool before icing.
