Ingredients

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter (or margarine) softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Stir the flour with the baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set this aside.

Step 2

In a large bowl, and with an electric mixer on a medium speed, beat together the butter, white sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.

Step 3

Reduce the mixer speed to low and beat in the sour cream and vanilla until the mixture is smooth.

Step 4

Gradually and slowly add in the flour mixture into very well combined. Refrigerate your dough for at least an hour.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease your baking sheets. Drop the batter by the spoonful onto the baking sheets, placing the batter drops about 2 inches apart.

Step 6

Combine 1/2 cup white sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon together in a bowl, and sprinkle onto the unbaked cookies on the baking sheet.

Step 7

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a golden brown. Remove to a wire rack and cool.
