Ingredients
- ½ Red pepper finely chopped
- ½ C. Pepperoni finely chopped
- ½ C. Mozzarella or provolone cheese grated
- 1 teas. Dried oregano or basil
- 397 g. Frozen puffed pastry thawed
- Flour
- 1/3 C. Tomato sauce not chunky
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375° (if not freezing for later use)
Step 2
Stir pepper and pepperoni in bowl with cheese and spice
Step 3
Dust working surface with flour and roll pastry into a 9 x 11 rectangle ( X 2)
Step 4
Spread sauce over each rectangle leaving a ½” border along one LONG side
Step 5
Lightly brush border with water
Step 6
Sprinkle the pepper mixture over the sauce
Step 7
Starting from the LONG edge that has NO BORDER, tightly roll up and pinch the seams to seal the logs
Step 8
IF FREEZING - Wrap with plastic, then foil and refrigerate overnight or freeze up to 2 weeks
Step 9
To thaw if frozen, sit logs on counter for 30 minutes before slicing into ½” rounds
Step 10
Bake in pre-heated oven till golden, about 20 minutes
