Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburg
  • 1 large onion, (about1 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 can (16oz) whole tomatoes (I use diced tomatoes and use 28oz can)
  • 2 medium stalks celery, (about 1 cup)
  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons chili powder (taste it before you put to much chili powder in it)
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce (optional) (I don't use red pepper sauce)
  • 1 can (15oz) kidney beans, drained

Preparation

Step 1

cook and stir hamburger, onion and garlic in 3-quart saucepan until is light brown; drain. Stir in tomatoes with liquid, celery, chili powder, salt, sugar, worcestershire sauce and pepper sauce. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. cover and simmer 1 hour.

stir in beans. heat to boiling; reduce heat. simmer uncovered until hot, 15 minutes. (for thicker chili, continue simmering, stirring occasionally, until desired consistency.)

5 serving (about 1 cup each)

slow cooker

after the hamburger is browned put all the ingredients is slow cooker and simmer for about 10 to 12 hours
