Ingredients

  • 1 box large shells
  • 1 container ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 16 oz. italian or mozzarella shredded cheese, divided
  • 1 lb. hamburger or turkey
  • 2 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • seasonings as desired (basil, garlic, salt & pepper, sage)
  • 2 jars spaghetti sauce or 1 large jar

Preparation

Step 1

Cook shells al dente and dry on cutting board.

Step 2

Cook hamburger with onions and seasonings. Drain.

Step 3

In large bowl, combine meat, cheeses (1/2 shredded cheese), minced garlic, and seasonings (again), egg. Add another egg or more cheese if filling needs to be thicker.

Step 4

Pour a slight layer of sauce in the bottom of a 9 X 13 glass dish.

Step 5

Stuff shells with mixture. Add shells to layer of sauce in dish.

Step 6

Add sauce over shells, covering all pasta. Add the remaining cheese.

Step 7

Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes covered with foil. Remove foil for last 10 cooking minutes.

Step 8

Allow to cool 10 minutes before serving.

Serve with garlic bread.
