Seems the older you get, the more you like "chewy!" LOL And, these are truly chewy.......help yourself. Also good for that fiber we need.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine and shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 5 T. molasses
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • Cream above ingredients together.
  • Add:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 t. baking soda
  • Stir in with spoon:
  • 2 c. oatmeal from the box
  • 1 c. raisins

Preparation

Step 1

Drop by spoonfuls and flatten with floured fork onto cookie sheet.
Bake until lightly browned on edges about 10 minutes. Let cool slightly before you remove so they don't fall apart. Store in covered container.
