Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 c uncooked white rice
  • 1 c water
  • 6 green peppers
  • 2 cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 T worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 t garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 T italian seasoning

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350F. Cook the rice until tender, about 20 minutes. Brown beef.

Step 2

Remove the tops of the peppers, remove the seeds, and slice the bottom of the peppers so they will stand upright in the baking dish. Place the peppers in the dish so the hollow sides are facing up.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix the beef, rice, 1 can of tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Put the mixture into the hollowed out peppers.

Step 4

Mix the remaining tomato sauce with the italian seasoning and pour over the peppers.

Step 5

Bake for about 1 hour until the peppers are tender.
