German Apple Cake (Apfelkuchen)

Ingredients

  • 1 c Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 c Sugar
  • 1 t Baking Soda
  • 1 t Vanilla
  • 1/2 t Salt
  • 2 t Cinnamon
  • 2 c Flour
  • 4 sliced Apples
  • 1 c Walnuts (optional)
  • ICING:
  • 1 1/2 T Butter
  • 1 T Vanilla
  • 3/4 c Powdered Sugar
  • 3 oz softened Cream Cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Peel, core and slice apples

Step 2

Beat together eggs and oil. Add sugar, baking soda, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and flour. Fold in apples and walnuts.

Step 3

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Step 4

Ice while hot.
