Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 gumdrop
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, diveded
  • 1tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 3 tablespoon graduated sugar
  • Red, yellow, blue, green foox color

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350 degrees. coat a 9x13 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. add the lemonpeel, nutmeg, and gumdrop to the batter and bake in the prepared pan according to the package directions

Step 2

cool completely on a wire rack. In a small bowl, combine confectioners sugar, lemon juice, and water until the mixture forms a creamy glaze.

Step 3

spread the glaze over the top of the cake. Place 1 tablespoon graduated sugar into each of three small resealable plastic storage bags. Add one drop of red and one drop of blue food coloring 2 1 bag to create purple sugar, mix well. Add two drops of yellow food coloring to another bag, mix well. At two drops of green food color to the remaining bag, mix well. Sprinkle the colored sugars over the glaze to decorate as desired.
