Ingredients

  • Basic:
  • 1 to 2 squares margarine
  • 8 cups rolled oats
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • ½ to 1 cup sugar
  • Mom Otteson's Granola:
  • Mom Otteson’s Granola
  • 4 cups quick oatmeal
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup honey or brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • Sunflower seeds

Preparation

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients. Add oil, honey, and water. Mixture should be crumbly. More water cana be added to make bigger crumbs. Place on two jelly roll pans. Bake at 250-300 degrees. Stir every 15 minutes until crisp and golden in color.

Using flour in the mixture helps it stick together better. Do not overcook.
