Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups asparagus finely chopped
- 2 large green peppers finely chopped
- 1 large sweet onion finely chopped
- 16 oz green split peas
- 4 Tbsp garlic chopped
- 1 tsp all purpose seasoning
- 1 tsp tumeric
- 2 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth homemade
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper optional
Preparation
Step 1
Olive oil spray your slow cooker, set temperature to high while you prep all your ingredients.
Step 2
Place all ingredients into your slow cooker, place lid on top and cook for 10 hours on low.
Step 3
Serve with a dollop of nonfat Greek plain yogurt, yum!
Homemade Chicken Broth: Bake 3 large chicken breasts at 350* with 3 cups of water in a large baking dish covered for 44 minutes. You can save the juice on bottom of pan for soups in place of store bought chicken broth, a low sodium alternative.
