Ingredients
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 5-6 TBS cold water
- 2 apples peeled and cored
- 2 pats butter
- Cinnamon sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Mix flour, salt and with fork cut in shortening till blended. Gradually add 1 tablespoon ice water at a time (put a few ice cubes in glass of water to make ice water and then discard ice cubes). Mix well till dough is easy to work with. Divide dough into 2 balls. Roll each ball out and place 1 peeled and cored apple in center. Place 1 pat butter inside hollowed out core and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Carefully bring dough up around top of apple and press together to seal dough. Do the same with remaining dough and apple.
Step 2
Bake on cookie sheet for 35-40 minutes till crust is browned. Remove, cool for 5 minutes. Put in bowl and pour however much milk you want on top and then sprinkle sugar on top.
