Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups cake four
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 whole milk
  • 3 large egg white, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • Frosting
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 6 tablespoons heavy white cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 350F
Whisk flour, baking powder and salt and cocoa powder in medium bowl. Whisk milk, egg,sour cream and vanilla in another bowl until sour cream completely incorporated

Step 2

beat butter and sugar in large bowl until very light and fluffy about 8 minutes, add flour mixture in 2 additions alternately beating on low speed until blended between additions

Step 3

divide batter between prepared pans, bake 20 minute

Step 4

Beat powder sugar, butter and 2 tablespoons sour cream in large bowl until blended continue beating add 1 tablespoon cream at a time until mixture in light and fluffy about 3 minutes add 1/2 cup cocoa chocolate add beat again.
Pipe icing in atop cake.refrigerate at least 30 minutes
