Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water, divided (110 degrees F)
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast (or use two .25-ounce packages yeast)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 5 1/2-6 1/2 cups bread flour (more if needed)
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve 1 tsp sugar in 1 cup warm water. Add yeast and let stand covered until yeast is bubbly.
Step 2
Place flour, sugar, salt and oil in mixer bowl and stir. Add yeast and remaining 1 cup warm water.
Step 3
Mix until smooth and stretchy.
Step 4
Remove from bowl to counter and rest for 3 minutes.
Step 5
Gather up dough and place in oiled bowl. Rest in warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 6
Punch down dough. Divide in 1/2 and roll each 1/2 into a rectangle.
Step 7
Roll up rectangles and seal edges.
Step 8
Brush with egg white, mark with slits and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Step 9
Cover and rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Step 10
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes.
