Apple Crumb Pie
By pmkreationstation7@gmail.com
This was a favorite while raising my kids, then my mom started to make this for my father and brother and critiqued instead of crumb topping she used a crust. Goes great with ice cream on a hot slice of pie.

Ingredients
- Apple Pie:
- 3/4 c of sugar
- 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp of nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp of flour
- 6-8 Apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1-unfrozen pie shell-buy in frozen section of the grocery store
- Crumb topping:
- 1 c of flour
- 1/2 c of butter
- 1/2 c of brown sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Cut off peels, core the apples then slice them up.
Place in a large or medium bowl.
Step 2
Place sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour over apples in a bowl. Mix together. Place apples into your pie shell.
Step 3
Mix together the ingredients for the crumb topping using a pastry cutter, if you don't have one use a blender of a mix master. You want the topping to look crumbly. If you don't have of those tools use a fork to mash together. Put topping on pie to cover to the ends of the crust.
Step 4
Place pie in oven at 425 degrees for 15 minutes then reduce the oven to 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Make sure you have foil or a cookie sheet under the pie as it might boil apple juice over the top of the crust. After its done take out to cool for 15-30 minutes to set up.
Make sure you use something under that pie in the oven otherwise it will drip on the bottom of the oven to clean later.
