Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Add sugar and salt to milk in a sauce pan.

Step 2

Cook over low heat, and stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.

Step 3

Cool slowly without stirring until a small quantity dropped in cold water forms a soft ball.

Step 4

Remove from heat, and add butter and vanilla without stirring.

Step 5

Cool to lukewarm.

Step 6

Beat until fairly thick, and pour into greased pan.

Step 7

Cool, and cut into squares to serve.
