I always remember when i could not fall asleep my grandma katrina would always make me homemade tea and we would talk for hours

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ tbsp of loose black tea leaves
  • 1 ½ cups of white sugar
  • 8 whole cloves
  • Grated rind of one medium orange
  • Juice from 4 oranges
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • Water (5 cups + 8 cups)

Preparation

Step 1

Start by putting the sugar, orange rind, cloves and the 5 cups of water into a kettle. Let it boil for 5 minutes and then strain. Let cool.

You can already feel a breeze of that sweet aroma!

Now bring to boil 8 cups of water and add your loose black tea leaves. See how they gently unfold and dance in circles. Let it steep for 3-4 minutes and strain.

Remember the strained spices with sugar? Get them now and add them to your tea. Wait. Smell it. Now add the juices and behold that beautiful color!
