Granny's Texas Baked Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 16oz. can green lima beans
  • 1 16 oz. can red kidney beans
  • 1 16 oz. can navy beans,
  • 1 large onion , finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3/4 cups water
  • 3 strips of bacon,fried crisp

Preparation

Step 1

Wash and drain all beans.

Step 2

Saute onion in bacon drippings until clear (not brown).

Step 3

Mix ketchup, vinegar, and water.

Step 4

Add all seasonings to ketchup mixture and mix well.

Step 5

Add to onions along with well drained beans. Mix carefully to evenly distribute seasonings.

Step 6

Put in a large casserole or pyrex dish and top with crumbled bacon.

Step 7

Bake covered for 1 hour at 375 degrees.
