Meat balls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb minced meat
  • 2/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • For sauce:
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 28 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup stock
  • 1 zucchini grated
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp oregano

Preparation

Step 1

Combine breadcrumbs and water and let stand 5 mins.

Step 2

Beat egg, garlic, salt, pepper, cheese and parsley.

Step 3

Add egg mixture to breadcrumb mix.

Step 4

Make balls and bake in skillet with oil ( if not making own sauce).

Step 5

If making own sauce add onion and garlic to skillet and fry for 3 mins. Add tomato, stock, zucchini, basil, and oregano. Simmer until thick (takes about 25 mins).

Step 6

Add meatballs to it and cook about 20 mins until meatballs are cooked.
