1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/2 Cup Butter or margarine
1/2 Cup shortening
1 Cup White sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Egg
2 tbsp. Milk

Step 1

Cream butter and shortening

Step 2

add sugar and beat until light and fluffy

Step 3

Beat in vanilla and egg

Step 4

Add salt and soda. Beat well

Step 5

Add flour and milk. Beat well

Drop by the spoonful on ungreased sheet

Step 7

Flatten by bottom of a glass dipped in sugar

Step 8

Bake at 350 for 12 mnutes
