Homemade Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • oil/cooking spray for waffle iron

Preparation

Step 1

Heat your waffle iron.

Step 2

Mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; set aside.

Step 3

In another bowl, beat eggs. Pour milk into eggs slowly, whisking well so the eggs don't curdle. Add vanilla.

Step 4

Pour wet ingredients into the dry and mix until just combined - waffles don't like to be over-mixed! There should still be some lumps in the batter.

Step 5

Spray/oil iron. Pour enough on iron so that 2/3-3/4 of it is covered.

Step 6

Cook until no more steam is coming out.

Use a gentle hand with your waffles and don't overbeat them.
