Red mullet and beet puree for babies 18+ months

This puree is incredibly healthy and delicious for older babies!

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons red mullet fish
  • 1 cup of potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of beet
  • 2 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons of sunflower oil

Preparation

Step 1

Chop the potatoes and steam or boil them until they are cooked through.

Step 2

Peel the beets, dice and then cook them in a hot pan with a teaspoon of sunflower oil.

Step 3

Using a hand mixer or a small food processor, blend the potatoes and beets. Once blended, add the cream and mix again.

Step 4

In the pan that you previously used to cook the beets, add the second teaspoon of sunflower oil and pan-cook the fish for 5-6 minutes. Once cooked, remove and discard the skin.

Step 5

Shred the fish with a fork or with your fingers and add it to the puree.

Step 6

Serve warm.

You can adapt this recipe to 6+ month old babies by reducing the oil to 1 teaspoon and blending the fish in with the vegetables to obtain a smooth puree.
