A festively nutritious recipe for your baby's very first Christmas dinner

Ingredients

  • main
  • 1 (medium-sized) potato
  • 1 (medium-sized) carrot
  • 1 (medium sized) parsnip
  • 2 broccoli florets
  • 1 (large thinly sliced) piece of turkey breast
  • 1 knob (cube) of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of your homemade cranberry sauce
  • gravy
  • 1 teaspoon of arrowroot
  • 1 cup of your homemade turkey stock
  • 1/2 teaspoon of tomato puree
  • * be sure to not use store bought stock that has a high sodium/salt content or to salt your vegetables

Preparation

Step 1

peel and thinly dice the potato, carrot, parsnip
cook in a small pan of boiling water for ten minutes
add the broccoli and cook for five more minutes

Step 2

after draining the vegetables place them back into the pan
add the butter and mash the vegetables until a tender and soft texture is achieved

Step 3

blend the turkey in the food processor with water or homemade turkey stock
add in the vegetable mixtures and puree until a smooth texture is achieved

Step 4

gravy
add the the homemade turkey stock with arrowroot in a small sauce pan on a medium heat
stir the sauce as it thickens
add in the tomato puree to achieve additional flavour
