- 3 lbs potatoes with firm flesh
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups whole milk
- 5 oz bacon
- 3 thick slices of ham
- 1 clove of garlic
- nutmeg
- salt
- pepper

Step 1
Preheat oven to 300 °
Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into slices. Keep them in cold water. Cut the ham into small pieces. Cut the garlic clove in half and rub into the interior of an oven proof dish.
Make a layer of potatoes in bottom of dish. Cover with bacon and ham and then a layer of cream. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg. Repeat until all the ingredients are used. Pour the milk over it all. Bake for 2 hours. Serve right out of the oven.
