The Classic Corn Dog, Done Perfectly!

 Ingredients

  • 6 frankfurters
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups cup flour
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup milk 
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tsp each salt, pepper and paprika
  • Wooden skewers

Method

  1. Cut the frankfurters in half, and roll them in cheddar slices, then slide them onto the wooden skewers.
  2. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  3. Mix the flour, salt, pepper and paprika in a bowl.
  4. Add the eggs, and milk and mix until you have a consistent texture. 
  5. Coat the sausages in the batter, and heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan.
  6. Fry the sausages in the pan, turning regularly until the dough is evenly brown. 
  7. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
