The Classic Corn Dog, Done Perfectly!

Here is our guide to making the ultimate fried corn dog at home...
Ingredients
- 6 frankfurters
- 6 slices of cheddar cheese
- 2 cups cup flour
- 1/2 cup corn flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tsp each salt, pepper and paprika
- Wooden skewers
Method
- Cut the frankfurters in half, and roll them in cheddar slices, then slide them onto the wooden skewers.
- Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- Mix the flour, salt, pepper and paprika in a bowl.
- Add the eggs, and milk and mix until you have a consistent texture.
- Coat the sausages in the batter, and heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan.
- Fry the sausages in the pan, turning regularly until the dough is evenly brown.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
