Study Finds THIS Type Of Couple More Likely To MARRY
A new study conducted at the University of Illinois finds that there are 4 distinct types of couples. The research team tracked 376 couples for 9 months, taking into account such factors as love, ambivalence, worries and satisfaction to determine which group of couples were more likely to end up getting married.
These are the 4 different types of couples identified in the study:
1. Conflict-Ridden But Passionate - 12%
You might think this type of relationship is doomed, but you'd be surprisingly mistaken. Despite the ups and downs that come with frequent disagreements, this couple has a tendency to use conflicts in a constructive way. They are no less likely to reach marriage than any of the other groups.
2. Socially Involved - 19%
These couples typically have mutual friend groups, and this bodes very well. Levels of love and commitment rise, as they establish relationship solidarity by spending time with friends and each other. Basically, it's a win-win for everyone.
3. Dramatic - 34%
If the label didn't tip you off already, this type of couple is probably the least likely to get married. It's constantly up and down, with unstable levels of commitment and a greater willingness to throw in the towel once negativity sets in. They also don't spend enough time together, which could be another driving force for the drama.
4. Partner-Focused - 30%
In this type of couple, both partners tend to put each other first. They like to spend a lot of time together (within healthy limits) and are usually interested in doing the same things together. They put a bit more effort into the emotional and physical parts of their relationship, working to satisfy each other, which leads to them being the most satisfied couple type of them all.
