(May 17, 2017) Recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination

227 units of Queso Fresco/ Whole Milk Cheese, produced by Global Garlic Inc. of Miami, Florida have been recalled, due to concerns that is has been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes . 

 

 

The product was distributed in stores in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Miami, FL. and Fairdale, KY

The FDA reports that no illnesses have been reported to date. 

If you have purchased cheese in this region, you are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Listeria monocytogenes , which is typically ingested through unpasturised milk and other dairy products, and other raw foods, can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people. People with weakened immune systems are also at risk.
