Neapolitan Pizza, A Protected Food

Neapolitan Pizza, A Protected Food

Since 2017, Neapolitan pizza has held a protected status from UNESCO's World Heritage division, meaning that pizzas which do not conform to a certain set of rules cannot call themselves "Neapolitan." These rules are very strict, and relatively few pizzerias have earned the right to label themselves as authentic.

For many of us, this meant that in order to taste this pizza, we had to plan a special trip to Naples, but not anymore! Now, you don't even have to leave the comfort of home to enjoy handcrafted Neapolitan pizza.

Talia di Napoli

Talia di Napoli

Italian company Talia di Napoli has created a system they call "The Sleeping Pizza" that ensures you can enjoy their Neapolitan pizzas—all the way from Italy—at home in America. There are 4 types of pizza to choose from, including a gluten-free one, plus a regular rotation of special edition pies. Once you make your choice online, they make the pizza using fresh ingredients from Italy, then put the pizza "to sleep" by flash-freezing it and packaging it with dry ice before shipping.

Free shipping.

Your order arrives frozen, and after heating your pizza in the oven, you'll get to eat hot pizza direct from Italy!

Pizzas range from about $12 to $14, which is definitely less than a plane ticket to Naples!
