How many times have you thrown food in the trash when you realized that the expiration date had already passed? It's normal to be wary of food poisoning for you and your family, especially because we've always been told that this date is the recommended deadline for consuming a product in the best conditions. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's no longer safe to eat!
If you keep your yogurt in the fridge, and below 40° F / 5° C the whole time, then it will still be safe to eat for 1 to 2 weeks after the "sell by" date on the package. Older yogurt always has a stronger taste, but the moment it tastes bad or changes in appearance, then it's time for the bin.
