How Kids Do Trick-or-Treating Around the World

In Scotland, the act of trick-or-treating is known as "guising," with children going door to door in disguise and receiving a gift of food, money, chocolate or other treats. Back in the day, they were only supposed to receive something if they performed a party trick, like singing a song, reciting a poem or funny joke, doing a card trick or some other act. Nowadays, it's becoming more and more common for children to resort to the American saying "trick-or-treat" without performing anything at all.
