Clean The Interior

Before placing your cleaned grates back on the grill, you need to clean out the interior. For gas grills, this is going to be the cook box. You also need to remove the flavorizer bars. Use a grill brush to scrape off debris and stubborn grease on and around the flat surfaces of the grill, and let it fall into the drip tray. For charcoal grills, you're simply cleaning the bottom of your grill. Start by wiping out any loose remaining debris with a grill brush into a trash can. Then use the brush or putty knife to scrape off grease and other residue.
