1. Antigua taberna de las escobas - 1386

Where is it? Seville, south west of Spain

La Antigua taberna de las escobas is one of the most traditional places to eat in the region — and in the country!

It specializes in Andalusian cuisine and has a large terrace, perfect for enjoying warm summer evenings.  At one point, its owner also made and sold brooms which hung from the ceiling, giving it a particularly unique vibe.

It has been well-preserved over the centuries, and for 500 years it remained in the hands of the same family. Just a few steps from Seville Cathedral, it's perfectly located and has been popular since its opening in the 1300s, having welcomed Miguel de Cervantes, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Lope de Vega, Alexandre Dumas, Lord Byron and the Álvarez Quintero brothers at various times

Undoubtedly, it's a place to visit at some point. Maybe next summer!
