Cooking Meat from Frozen

Technically speaking,  you can cook meat from frozen on the grill. But there are several potential problems you may encounter, one of which is uneven cooking. Depending on the type of grill you have and how the heat source is distributed, you may end up with some partially cooked meats and others that are overcooked. It's difficult to monitor for doneness when you start from such a cold temperature because the outside may seem done, but the center could still be slightly frozen. Another issue is lost flavor. Cooking meat from frozen means you won't be able to season or marinate it beforehand, which makes it more difficult to flavor after it's cooked. Finally, the quality between fresh and frozen meat is far from equal. But if you only have the frozen kind, we recommend you defrost the meat and let it come to room temperature before cooking.
