PayDay

An idealistic name for a candy bar born during the Great Depression, PayDays were christened as such because they happened to be invented on a pay day at the Hollywood Candy Company. The entire country went nuts for PayDay bars, packed with salty peanuts with sweet caramel and a nougat center. But times were tough in the 1930s, and they were sometimes eaten in the place of a meal.
