Pastel De Nata

These Portuguese custard tarts are an egg-lover's dream, with a crispy puff pastry base filled with custard cream and baked until slightly caramelized. They're an absolute must for those who go to Lisbon, and you have to get them from Fábrica de Pastéis de Belém, which has been producing the artisanal sweets since the monks who created them sold the recipe to the owners' ancestors in 1837. Although today they are pretty easy to find, you can also try your hand at these homemade beauties anytime.
