Historic Village Diner, Since 1927 - Red Hook, NY
For many years, the Historic Village Diner didn't actually have a name! Instead, it was known as "The Halfway Diner," but was named "The Village Restaurant" in the 1960s. Now, it is known as the Historic Village Diner. At this Silk City-style diner, you should order any one of their homemade treats, such as their cinnamon bun or rice pudding. Also worth the calories are the Monte Cristo and the Silk City Special—grilled turkey with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion on a hard roll.
