Balance Flavors

An important part of cooking without a recipe is knowing how to balance out your flavors so that you're not sick of the dish after a few bites. While not every meal is going to be a Michelin Star experience, you should at least aim for something you wouldn't mind eating again. If a dish is too spicy, add tomato paste or peanut butter, for example. Whatever you make, you want to avoid flavors that are too one note.

These quick and easy chicken quesadillas are the perfect, last-minute family dinner!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp. of Mexican spice mix
  • 4 Tortillas
  • Cheddar
  • Salt, to taste

METHOD:

  1. Put shredded chicken breast, tomato sauce, chives, and mexican spice mix in a bowl and mix together.
  2. Lay out the tortillas. Place a slice of cheddar in the center, and cover with the chicken mix.
  3. Fold up tortillas, and heat in a frying pan until golden.
  4. Enjoy!
