Balance Flavors

An important part of cooking without a recipe is knowing how to balance out your flavors so that you're not sick of the dish after a few bites. While not every meal is going to be a Michelin Star experience, you should at least aim for something you wouldn't mind eating again. If a dish is too spicy, add tomato paste or peanut butter, for example. Whatever you make, you want to avoid flavors that are too one note.
