Norway

Halloween didn't even exist in Norway until the late 90's, with American influence slowly creeping in by way of cartoons, children's movies and comic books. While it's unclear how exactly the tradition became known over there, today it's a Halloween not unlike that which we know in the States. Some locals lament the commercialization of such holidays, while others love the idea of dressing up in costumes, receiving candy and seeing all the spooky decorations. For those who do practice trick-or-treating in Norway, they have their own phrase: "knask eller knep", which basically means the same thing as "trick-or-treat" but in reverse order.
