Champagne and Hush Puppies

Even down-home Southern comfort food can dabble with la crème de la crème of wines. Hush puppies are made with cornmeal-based batter, which is naturally sweet and savory. On top of that, they're fried. So champagne can come sweeping in to cut the richness with just one sip.  Bonus? Champagne is also a great choice for crab meat, so if hush puppies are your go-to side with crab, then you're in luck.
