Homemade Chocolate Pudding

If you like pudding and you like chocolate
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 T. cornstarch (or 1/4 c. flour)
- 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 2 2/3 c. milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 T. margarine (or peanut butter)
- 1 1/2 t. vanilla
Homemade Chewy Brownies

Here is finally a chewy brownie that will delight your senses!
- 1/4 c. melted margarine
- 6 T. Hershey's (preferred) cocoa
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 t. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage

This is the old way I learned to make the Hungarian favorite
- 1 large head of cabbage
- FILLING:
- 1 1/2 pounds of ground steak
- 1 pound of fresh pork sausage
- 1 c. uncooked rice (to yield 2 cups of cooked rice)
- 1 large onion chopped small
- 3 eggs
- pepper to taste
- SAUCE:
- Combine,
- 1 large 28 ounce can of chopped stewed or regular tomatoes
- 2- 15 ounce cans tomato sauce
- Another chopped onion
- 1 stalk of celery, chopped
- 1 t. paprika
- pepper to taste
- 2 T. of sugar (to counteract the tomato acid)

- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 T. flour
- 3 T. cornstarch
- 2 T butter or margarine
- 1 to 2 t. grated lemon peel rind
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
Hungarian Chicken and Dumplings

This is a very hearty meal that will quickly fill you up
- 1 chicken carcass for broth
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/2 stalk celery minced
- 1 small carrot, chopped
- 10 cups water
- pepper to taste
- DUMPLINGS:
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 4 c. flour
- 1/4 t. baking powder
- small amount of cooled broth
Homemade Chewy Oatmeal Cookies

Seems the older you get, the more you like "chewy!" LOL And, these are truly chewy
- 1 c. margarine and shortening
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 5 T. molasses
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- Cream above ingredients together.
- Add:
- 1 egg
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 t. baking soda
- Stir in with spoon:
- 2 c. oatmeal from the box
- 1 c. raisins

- Combine:
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/4 c. lard or shortening
- Work together lightly.
- Combine:
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. vinegar
- 6 T. cold water
- Add to flour mixture, work together "lightly." Roll out onto floured board or cheesecloth.
