Sweet and Sour Pork

Place all sauce ingredients in a cup and stir
- 300g pork, cut into roughly bite size pieces
- a few tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper/capsicum, sliced
- 4 Tbsp sugar
- 3 Tbsp vinegar
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp chicken stock powder
- 2/3 cup water
- 3 Tbsp cornstarch mixed with a little water
Zaru Soba Sauces

Tsuyu sauce: Place mirin, water, katsuo-bushi and konbu in a saucepan and bring to boil
- Tsuyu sauce:
- 1 cup shoyu (Japanese soy sauce)
- 3/4 cup mirin
- 1/3 cup water
- katsuo-bushi (3g-10g, depending on your budget)
- about 3cm of konbu (if you have it. Rinse salt off first)
- Hiyashi-Chuka sauce:
- 100 ml Japanese soy sauce
- 120 ml Vinegar (Rice vinegar is best but apple cider or white will do)
- 120 ml Cold water
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Veggie Soup

Melt butter over medium heat
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 4 tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 bell pepper, any colour, minced
- 4 inches celery, minced
- 4 cups baby spinach
- 1 cup corn
- any other vegetables, sliced or chopped into small pieces
- 2 cups macaroni or other pasta shape
- 1/4 stick butter
- salt and pepper to taste
- water for enough soup
Michael's Grilled Porkchops

Preheat oven and skillet to 400 F
- pork chops
- olive oil
- salt
- pepper
Greek Baked Salmon

Preheat oven to 350 F
- 4 Salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- feta cheese, crumbled
Beef Stew

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker
- 1 lb. stewing beef
- 3 cups tomato puree
- salt and pepper to taste
- dried oregano to taste
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Shrimp Popcorn

Heat oil for frying
- 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and cleaned
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- oil for deep frying

Preheat oven at 375 F. Caramelize sugar in baking pan
- 12 egg yolks
- 1 can condensed milk
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
Lengua de Gato

Preheat oven to 375 F
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 cup superfine white sugar
- Whites from 2 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Almond Finger Puffs

Roll pastry in between 2 sheets of plastic to about 5mm thickness
- 1 pack of puff pastry
- 2 tbsp egg white
- 2 tbsp fine sugar (I used caster sugar instead)
- 80 gm almond flakes
- 2 tbsp fine sugar (to sprinkle)
