  • 12 fresh figs
  • zest of one orange
  • scant 1/2 cup sugar cane syrup (substitute corn syrup if cane is not available)
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 tbs cinnamon
  • 3 cloves

Step 1

Wash the orange and grate the zest. Wash and cut the figs in half. Place them in individual bowls. In a saucepan, boil the cane sugar syrup. Add the zest, the vanilla bean and cloves. Let simmer for 5min then pour over the figs. Place in the fridge at least 1 hour. You can serve this salad with cottage cheese, a scoop of ice cream or cookies.
