Here's our take on the recipe:
Crockpot at the Ready!
Ingredients (for 2 people):
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloved garlic (minced)
- 1/2 lbs. ground beef
- 1/2 lbs. Italian sausage (chopped)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 box lasagna noodles
- 1 cup mozzarelle (shredded)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan
- 1/4 cup basil leaves (chopped)
Instructions:
In a skillet, sauté the onions over medium heat. Add the onions and stir for 5 min. Add the garlic, beed, sausage, and salt and pepper, and cook for a further 5 min. until the meat has turned brown.
In the same pot, add the tomato paste, marinara sauce, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Stir everything together and bring to a boil.
Break the lasagna noodles into medium-sized pieces and add to the pot. Stir and let cook for 10 min. until the noodles becomes al dente.
Once the pasta is ready, add the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Stir it in so that it becomes gooey.
Serve topped with the fresh basil!
